MUMBAI: A political party’s supporters barged into the proposed Metro-III car shed premises at Aarey colony and assaulted security guards on Tuesday.

They damaged a temporary office and put up flags of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) at the site.

The Metro authorities informed the Aarey sub police, who are probing if the accused belong to the MNS and if it was an act of protest.

The police are recording the statements of the injured security guards and will then register a case of rioting, assault and intimidation.

Around 4.45pm, men arrived in an SUV and assaulted Ravindra Gulgarg (32). They smashed glass panes of a cabin when Gulgarg resisted. They also threatened him to quit and warned that they would not allow the authorities to proceed with the work. More info
