CM Fadnavis in Japan: Bullet train, Mumbai Metro on the agenda

MUMBAI: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has proposed that the bullet train from Ahmedabad to Mumbai should go via Nashik, to which JICA, the funding agency for capital-intensive projects, agreed.

Fadnavis is presently in Japan to sign agreements regarding industrial and financial deals.

JICA has also assured CM Fadnavis to fast track funding for Rs 11,000 crore Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) project between Nhava and Sewri so as to start bidding by December 2015.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) had already proposed to start public consultation on Mumbai Metro next week and will also support the bullet train project. Fadnavis had a ride on bullet train with the Japanese minister on Thursday. More info
