Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety has completed “safety audit” of coaches of Jaipur metro on its first phase which is likely to begin operation by August end, an official said on Thursday.
“A physical inspection of metro coaches running on track were audited on safety measures by a team of senior CMRS officials whole day yesterday,” JMRC CMD N C Goyal said in Jaipur. Though CMRS has hinted a satisfactory run of rolling stock (coaches), but it would file a final report to the Railway Board that would issue a safety certificate to JMRC, Goyal said.
Based on safety certificate, CMRS experts would again examine rail track, signalling, communication, platforms, lifts, escalators, lighting, and personnel’s expertise on the first route from Mansarovar to Chandpole, he said. This route would be given final shape by end of August for final operation, the CMD said. More info
