MUMBAI: The Railways on Thursday told the Bombay high court that it will set up Emergency Medical Rooms at 24 railway stations on the suburban route.

These stations on the Central, Western and Harbour line have witnessed over 100 rail/track accidents in 2014 and include stations at Churchgate, Mumbai Central, Bandra, Andheri, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali, Vasai Road, Virar, Palghar, CST, Dadar, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Mulund, Thane, Kopar, Kalyan, Vadala Road, Vashi, Panvel and Karjat.

The railways have however urged the court to exempt it from setting up EMRs at CST as the St George hospital is nearby and at Kopar, because of its inaccessibility. More info
