MUMBAI: The fare fixation committee (FFC) that will determine the Metro tariff on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar corridor has finally been formed.
It will now examine the present fares being charged by Mumbai Metro One Private Limited and will recommend fare revision, if any, in near future, sources said. At present, MMOPL charges fares in the range of Rs 10-Rs 40 to travel between Versova and Ghatkopar. For a smartcard user, the maximum fare is a discounted Rs 32 though the minimum fare is still Rs 10.
Retired Justice E Padmanabhan has been appointed chairman of the committee, while the two other members are former chief secretary Jayant Kumar Banthia and former law secretary T K Vishwanathan. The MMOPL has no representative in the committee. More info
