High tide floods Mumbai, is city collapsing?

Mumbai: Mumbai is infamous for coming to a standstill during monsoons. Mumbaikars experienced relief from rising mercury as the city received a short spell of rain on Wednesday.

However, high tide caused flooding in parts of Dadar on Thursday. Sea-water also submerged road partially near Gateway of India due to high tide in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the four-month-long monsoon season started on a weak note as the annual rains arrived over country’s southern coast about five days behind the average date of 1 June. More info
