MUMBAI: Reliance Infrastructure and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) are likely to terminate the concession agreement for the 32-km-long Metro II from Charkop to Mankhurd via Mankhurd, it has been learned.
According to a source, a meeting was held on May 6 where it was “decided to terminate the concession agreement because no progress was achieved owing to things beyond the control of the state government and R-Infra”. A formal order about the termination is likely to be issued soon.
CM Prithviraj Chavan on Wednesday declared that a techno-economic feasibility study is being conducted on making Metro II underground and extending it to Dahisar. More info
