Man gets back wallet lost on Mumbai Metro

MUMBAI: A commuter who lost his wallet while commuting on the Metro early this month got it back in 24 hours due to alacrity on part of an official.

The wallet’s owner identity was traced by a Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL) staffer using a bank debit card, which was among its contents. “Metro officials returned my wallet within 24 hours,” Gaurav Kumar said.

A customer-care officer of the Mumbai Metro found the wallet at the Andheri Metro station and dispatched it to the lost and found centre. A search of the wallet did not reveal any contact details of the owner. Kumar said the wallet contained Rs 8,500, an Aadhaar card and debit cards of various banks. Since the Metro service was launched last month, 65 commuters have got back their lost valuables. More info
