Metro-III tenders in a week, work may start from April

MUMBAI: Work on the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro is expected to begin around April. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) is likely to issue tenders in the next week.

Nine consortia have already qualified and MMRCL now plans to invite the request for proposal (RFP).

MMRCL’s managing director Sanjay Sethi said, “We have already prepared the bid documents. The bidder will be selected after three months.”

Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) will contribute Rs 777 crore as the Metro will also connect with the Chhattrapati Shivaji International Airport. Sethi said, “It has been decided that a single tender will be floated for the three stations and corridor work that comes under MIAL’s jurisdiction.” More info
