Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation overwhelmed by response



The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), which is being incorporated as an independent body by the state government to operate and maintain all Metro projects, has received tremendous response from applicants.

The MMRC had on September 2, 7 and 10 invited applications for 25 technical and administrative posts. While September 26 and 30 were the last dates for submission of applications, the MMRC has already received nearly 2,000 applications for 24 posts across various categories. So much so, the MMRC has come up with posts of two directors and three executive directors as well.

A senior MMRDA official said, “The way we have received applications from all kinds of professionals, we are sure that the coming era will be of Metro rail throughout the country.”

Currently, additional commissioner of MMRDA, Sanjay Sethi, an IAS officer, is the managing director of MMRC while secretary, ministry of urban development, GOI, Shankar Aggarwal, is the chairman. More info
