Mumbai Metro makes it to 100 million commuters

Versova-Andheri Metro trial run by December

The construction of the first Metro line, the 11.4-kilometre long Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar corridor, started in February 2008. Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd, a special purpose vehicle formed by Reliance Infrastructure, MMRDA and Veolia Transport are constructing the route.

JICA to fund $2.26 bn Mumbai Metro Line 3

It is thought the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) ‘will soon accept the request’ to fund the $2.26 billion Line 3 of the Mumbai Metro rail network. JICA is currently working on finalising concessional financing for the third line.
